Ways to Serve in 2026

Join our mission and help us share extraordinary life in Christ.

Select from multiple categories how your gifts can be of service. Feel free to reach out to ministry staff at info@oflc.net if you have any questions.

Gather in Worship

Volunteers are needed to advance projection slides, run sound, help with lighting and assist with video production during worship services. Each of these areas include thorough training, so that you can be equipped and feel comfortable helping out.

Ushers and Greeters are the first people you see when you walk through the front door, offering a smile and friendly face. Ushers are needed to hand out worship folders, collect offerings, and direct people to receive Holy Communion. Usher teams typically serve for a month at a time.

Volunteers are needed to serve at our new Welcome Center before and after worship service, directing visitors to our restrooms, helping them find our adult Bible study class locations, and directing them to the lower level for kids' and youth ministry.

Volunteers are needed to prepare the wine, wafers, and other communion supplies and place them on the altar prior to Holy Communion worship service. Duties also include removing communion items after the service, washing trays, etc. and laundering towels and cloths used. You will receive training for this role. Plan to serve approximately once every 6 weeks.

Students 5th - 8th grade are needed to help during Holy Communion worship services. This includes lighting and extinguishing candles at the beginning and end of the service, and holding communion trays during Holy Communion. Students will receive training for this role.

Our primary ensembles include Choir, Worship Band, Instrumental, and Handbells. Serving in any of these ensembles is an opportunity to hone one’s musical skills. These ensembles provide an opportunity to be involved in a community which serves the Lord through song and strives towards musical excellence.

Live God's Mission

We will be adding new MC groups in the fall of 2026.  Missional Communities (MCs) are a great way to live God's mission together with fellow members of OFLC.  Geographically located for convenience, MCs gather twice a month at the MC leader's home, share a meal together, and focus on fellowship, prayer, the study of God's word, and service.

Our 2026 mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, will be June 7-13. This is an inter-generational mission opportunity. We are currently in the planning stages and will be providing mission focus and trip details soon.

2026 will be our 31st year in sending a team of volunteers to Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso, Texas. The trip dates are November 25-29, and we will be serving about 1,000 Thanksgiving meals over the course of three days in El Paso and two locations in Juarez, Mexico. The team may also work on a variety of improvement projects on the Ysleta campus. This mission trip is ideal for families, as all ages are able to participate.

Church Administration

Join a 2 person counting team to sort, count and deposit weekly offerings. All work is done on campus on Sundays. Each team can expect to count once every 5-6 weeks. Monthly schedules are created and can be changed to accommodate personal needs. Primary condition of service as a counter is that no marital / family relations may be on the same counting team.
